BlackWing Asset Management (Hong Kong) was granted Type 1 and 9 licenses by the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission in March 2025. The company’s majority shareholders are prominent China quant pioneers, Chen Zehao and Zou Yitian, who first founded the Shanghai BlackWing Asset Management in 2014, growing it to a US$2.7B equity and CTA focused hedge fund in China today. BlackWing Asset Management will be led by industry veterans Andrew Tong and Joel Chow in Hong Kong. Andrew was a former Senior Portfolio Manager of China A-share quant strategies at Invesco Hong Kong with over 18 years of industry experience in Hong Kong and Singapore. Joel was a former Portfolio Manager of China and Hong Kong equity strategies at Bowen Capital and JK Capital with over 20 years of industry experience in Hong Kong. BlackWing Asset Management will seek to deploy an AI enabled systematic investment process as it develops new quantitative offerings* including market neutral, multi-strategy, enhanced index and CTA strategies.
